According to the company, the main topic of the meeting was an in-depth analysis of the problems of rubber-tired transport, including the impact of fuel costs, around 32%, on companies operating in Europe. To meet those needs, Marangoni officials outlined the company’s new Ecoenergy low rolling resistance compounds, line extensions and bead-to-bead retreading for truck tires.
In addition, Marangoni has been working toward retreading larger OTR tires, and now offers treads for sizes 33.00R51 and 36.00R51.
“The exponential growth of emerging countries is causing strong demand for raw materials and petroleum to generate the energy needed for the new production sites,” said company President Giovanni Marangoni. “This has meant increases in the prices of both. In the current situation, the international tire industry is going through a period of important changes and transformations.
“I believe that on the changing competitive scene, the innovative Marangoni retreading system is a winner, as the implementation of research and continuous development of the production process are traditionally part of our group’s DNA.” (Tire Review/Akron)
