The deputy saw a man about 9:15 p.m. hanging around Sonora Tire Shop on Valley Blvd., which was closed, San Bernardino County sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Alsky said.
The deputy detained the man and noticed he had tires in his possession that had the same tags as those inside the business.
The deputy called the shop’s owner, who confirmed that the tires were taken from the business.
Alsky said thieves will usually resell the tires at swap meets or to unsuspecting shop owners who do not know they are stolen. (Tire Review/Akron)
