Kumho LT Tires Being Recalled

NHTSA has issues a recall notice on some Kumho-made light truck tires.

The recall covers 36,292 Kumho Mohave A/T tires in sizes LT225/75R16, LT245/75R16 and LT265/75R16. The tires were produced between Dec. 7, 2008, and June 13, 2009, and sold in the U.S. by Kumho Tire USA Corp.

Regarding the tires, NHTSA said the “vehicle’s handling performance becomes difficult when operated under loaded conditions or when changing lanes,” a condition that “may result in the vehicle swaying and could possibly result in a crash.”

Kumho will notify owners and replace the tires free of charge, NHTSA said. (Tire Review/Akron)
