Integrated Fleet TPMS Solution

Mobile Awareness said its newly-released MobileTraq Vue, integrated with TireStat TPMS sensors, creates the most advanced tire pressure management system available for commercial trucks.

MobileTraq Vue is a rugged, flexible asset-based monitoring system for both connected and stand-alone truck and trailer monitoring. Featuring an intuitive, programmable color touch-screen display that allows the driver to see and hear warnings, the MobileTraq platform was developed to readily connect with Mobile Awareness wired and wireless sensors, the first of which is TireStat TPMS, according to the maker.

TireStat TPMS sensors – flow-thru tire sensors mountable inside the tire or externally on the valve stem – transmit data every 60 seconds to the MobileTraq monitor, with pressure and temperature events triggering the system to alarm in real-time, Mobile Awareness said. It offers a battery life of up to 10 years and an operating temperature of -40°F to 257°F.

Additional features include various integrated telematics communication interfaces for monitoring inside the vehicle and remotely, all provided with a 3-year warranty. MobileTraq will provide updates and feature upgrades including voice enunciation, driver logs and inspection forms, the company added.

“We are extremely excited to announce the first solution that protects a fleets’ technology investment with both software-upgradability and expandable hardware features,” said Gary Rothstein, Mobile Awareness president. “Two of the initial hardware upgrades available in Q1 2014 will be the integration of a wireless tread depth gauge as well as our SenseStat Obstacle Detection Sensor System.”

As moisture creeps through the porous nature of the friction material, it is compromising the untreated backing plat, NRS Brakes says. Usually, moisture in the friction material is dissipated as heat is created through normal braking routines.
