Ingersoll Rand has expanded its MAX family of air tools with new long barrel and short barrel air hammers. The 118MAX and 122MAX air hammers feature a design that reduces tool vibration by over 30% when compared to standard air hammers in its class, the company noted. Noise output is reduced by up to 3 dBA as compared to standard air hammers, the manufacturer added, and the tool has been equipped with an improved ergonomic grip to provide additional comfort during extended use.
Generating 15% more force per impact than standard air hammers makes it one of the most powerful air hammers on the market, Ingersoll Rand stated. The tool features a new quick-change retainer that reduces wear and allows for faster chisel changeovers for increased productivity. Also, each of the tools is offered in a kit that includes a blow-molded case and five-piece chisel set.
