Industry Vets Helping Dealers Improve Business

Tire industry veteran Stu Zurcher and long-time automotive aftermarket consultant Norman Gaither have formed Dealer Strategic Planning Inc., with plans to help independent tire dealers improve their businesses by sharing and learning best practices.

Dealer Strategic Planning organizes “20 Groups” among bodies of dealers, in which members learn from each other by sharing best practices, marketing ideas and business management strategies, all with an eye toward improving profits and operating efficiencies.

The company’s first 20 Group was recently formed, which includes 20 dealers from the U.S. and Canada. “The first meeting was outstanding,” said John Hoppe of Duxler Tire Co. in Glenview, Ill. “I personally got more information to help me improve my business than I thought I would get from five meetings.”
