Conti Moving R&D to Mt. Vernon

(Akron/Tire Review) Radio station WJBD in Salem, Ill., has reported that Continental Tire North America will move its North American research and development operations from Charlotte, N.C., to its plant in Mt. Vernon, Ill.

Work has started on an addition to the plant to house the R&D group.

In addition, CTNA plans to add 20 new and upgraded tires to its Mt. Vernon production plans this year. WJBD reported that plant employees have been receiving training on the new products.
