Virginia-based Bobby’s Tire and Auto has restructured its management team and is looking to expand its footprint in 2016.

Dealership founder Bobby Cutchins is now the chief visionary officer. Robby Cutchins, former company president, is the company’s new CEO. Additionally, Bobby’s has hired industry veteran Dave Crawford to serve as president and chief operating officer.

“To continue to be the market leader, I feel that we need to grow and take the company to the next level,” said Bobby Cutchins. “The plan has been in the works for a while, and realigning the management team will position us for growth in the coming years.”

Robby Cutchins told Tire Review the dealership plans to gradually expand to more locations. How many locations the dealership will expand by has not been finalized, he said.

“Whether it’s building or buying locations, we’re going to look to grow,” said Robby. “We have no set number in mind. We’re going to see what the market allows and what we can do.”

Robby said bringing someone on like Crawford is vital to help the dealership expand.

“Having the ability to bring in someone with the knowledge in the industry, like Dave Crawford really excels us to another level,” he said. “He’s been someone who’s been a mentor to us for years. Having him on board now really positions us for future growth. He’s done it all and seen it all, and that’s vital to going forward in this industry.”

Crawford was long associated with ACCC, but left the marketing group in 2007 to become vice president of Mail America. In 2008, he became vice president of Am-Pac Distributor’s Tire Pros dealer program. Am-Pac was bought out by American Tire Distributors in late 2008, and Crawford continued revising and building the Tire Pros program. Most recently, Crawford served as CEO of The Hybrid Shop.

Robby Cutchins has been with Bobby’s for more than 19-years, and has managed the store operations since 2010. In 2013, he became president of Bobby’s Tire.

Bobby’s Tire and Auto was founded in 1982 as a two-person operation. The business has expanded over the years and the dealership currently operates two locations in Franklin and Emporia, Va.
