Barum’s Big Tyre Range

With a reputation for quality products at competitive prices, Viking International has introduced 12 new Barum sizes in V and W speed ratings to its existing range of 81 tyres. In addition, point of sale material will be made available to support the new range.

Already covering a wide range of fitments from 12 to 18 inches, 40- to 80-series profiles, and speed ratings including T, H, V, W and Z, the range received significant acclaim in 2005 from Auto Express magazine. Dealer support includes consumer information leaflets, glossy reception posters, superior outdoor signage in a range of sizes and high quality branded clothing.

Unlike all-season or all-terrain tires built for diverse driving conditions, UHP summer tires are designed with one priority: dry and wet traction for performance driving. Lateral and longitudinal grip in dry and wet conditions are also important, which is achieved through optimized contact patches, high silica tread compounds and circumferential grooves to channel water. Generally, UHP summer tire tread design features large blocks and fewer grooves for more road contact on dry surfaces. The grooves are designed to channel water away from the tire, reducing the risk of hydroplaning on wet roads.
