Automechanika Shanghai Set for This December

Automechanika Shanghai 2011 will be held Dec. 7-10 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

As Asia’s largest trade fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, the show is expected to house a record-breaking 3,600 exhibitors under one roof, compared to over 3,100 exhibitors in 2010, organizers said.

The fair is organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. and the China National Automotive Industry International Corporation (CNAICO). Confirmed exhibitors come from 30 countries and regions, including first time exhibitors from Czech Republic and Tunisia. This year, Automechanika Shanghai is going to house 11 overseas pavilions, including first-time pavilions from India and Japan.

TBC promotes Don Byrd to president and CEO

Byrd joined TBC in April 2018 as executive vice president of TBC and president & COO of National Tire Wholesale (NTW).

TBC Corporation’s new president and chief executive officer will be Don Byrd. Byrd, who currently serves as TBC’s chief strategy and marketing officer, will replace Sam Kato, effective May 1. Kato will return to Sumitomo, one of TBC’s shareholders.

According to TBC, Byrd’s appointment by the board of directors to president and chief executive officer is a natural transition for TBC and follows a strategic plan developed in collaboration with Kato.
