Apollo Tyres is creating community soccer fields with 100% recycled rubber. These “Go the Distance” fields are in line with Manchester United’s, whom the tiremaker sponsors in Europe, Asia and Africa, and are being created with the objective of encouraging young talent.
“Sustainability is a key element of our philosophy and we have found an innovative way to use recycled rubber while at the same time making a long-term investment for the benefit of the local community. In our role as sponsor of Manchester United, we want to support the local community and the construction of our first ‘Go the Distance’ pitch is proof of our commitment,” said Marco Paracciani, chief marketing officer of Apollo Tyres.
The “Go the Distance’ fields were designed for the local community to test out and hone their soccer skills, the tiremaker said.
In addition to launching the “Go the Distance” initiative, the tiremaker confirmed it has extended its partnership with Manchester United across Europe, Asia and Africa and will be the Manchester United’s Official Tire Partner in 69 countries.
