Apollo Tyres plans to expand its Chennai, India, plant. The tiremaker will increase capacity at the facility and is in the process of setting up an R&D center at the same complex.
Catering to both domestic and export markets, the plant produces roughly 6,000 truck tires and 15,000 passenger tires a day. According to a report by Business Standard, the plant’s capacity could expand up to 50%.
According to the Business Standard report, the new R&D center could take up the research and development for commercial vehicles for Apollo’s plants worldwide.
