The “2015 Joint Channel Forecast Model,” a study commissioned by the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association and the Auto Care Association, predicts the U.S. automotive aftermarket is expected to grow at an annual rate of 3.6%.
According to the forecast, aftermarket sales are expected to grow from $246.7 billion in 2014 to $284.3 billion in 2018.
“The forecast model demonstrates that despite strong new vehicle sales, moderating gas prices and a slight improvement in miles driven, our industry can expect to see continued steady growth,” said Kathleen Schmatz, Auto Care Association president and CEO.
The market sizing and forecast was conducted by IHS Automotive on behalf of AASA and the Auto Care Association. The study is available as part of the Auto Care Associations’ 2016 Digital Auto Care Factbook and on AASA’s website.
