K&M Tire Buys Wisconsin Dealer

Delphos, Ohio-based tire distributor K&M Tire Inc. has purchased the assets of Don’s Tire in Cross Plains, Wis.

A long-time K&M customer, Don’s Tire opened its doors in 1988 and sold Bridgestone, Firestone, Fuzion, Goodyear, Continental, and Carlisle tires to both retail and wholesale customers.

The deal closed on Jan. 2, and included Don’s Tire’s inventory and customer list. With the purchase, however, Don’s Tire’s lone retail store closed its doors. Leo Wherley, owner of Don’s Tire, joined K&M Tire as a part-time outside sales representative in the Wisconsin area.

Founded in 1970, K&M Tire operates 12 warehouses and services customers in 15 states from Ohio to the Dakotas.

Yokohama Rubber partners with Haupt Racing Team

Yokohama Rubber said it is aiming for victories at the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race and Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS) with Advan tires.

Yokohama Rubber has signed a partnership agreement with Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing’s Haupt Racing Team (HRT). As part of the Advan Challenge that seeks to maximize sales of Advan tires, Yokohama Rubber said it is aiming for victories at the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race and Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS) by supplying its Advan racing tires for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 being entered in those races by HRT.
