Viking’s Record Online Growth

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) Viking International, the largest tyre, exhaust and battery wholesaler in the UK, is pleased to report a record number of visitors using its Internet and web based services.

Continuous development ensures that the online information and sales service is constantly updated, providing the latest Viking news, offers and information for its users.

With 18 months of consecutive year-on-year growth, the website has surpassed all expectations.  There are approximately 500 customers with access to the password protected trade area, with figures constantly growing.

These customers benefit from a feature packed and easy to use online ordering system which includes a specially tailored product catalogue and special offers only available from the website. Sales highlight the site’s success, with a 67 per cent increase in orders and a massive 96 per cent increase in the value of orders in comparison with figures from 2004. The service has proved so popular that it has recently been extended to include exhausts, resulting in an even wider selection of products and information available at the touch of a button.

Mike Curry, managing director for Viking International said: “We are delighted with the figures from the Viking website. The record number of visitors coupled with the massive increase in sales has been a huge bonus for us. With Internet usage increasing all over the country, we at Viking want to ensure our customers can get access to all the products and range they need at their convenience, which is why our focus is on expanding that access online.”

Following this success, Viking International has recently introduced dedicated brand websites for Viking, Gislaved and the recently launched new Ultra High Performance Millennium, each displaying the tyre range and specifications, along with POS support, a dealer locator and trade area.
