Dekk Partner Hosts 400 for Nordic Tyre Tests

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) Dekk Partner recently invited its Nordic suppliers and customers for a winter adventure at Gol Mountain in Norway.

It was an intensive week with more than 400 visitors, all experiencing the best of the Norwegian mountains.

Temperatures of -22°C in the morning (peaking at 6°C during the day) meant there was always enough snow-covered roads, but conditions were bearable.

Dealers received presentations from tyre, car and truck suppliers and from the organisers themselves. MAN and Norsk Scania participated by supplying five demonstration trucks. The activities were divided into five experiences, and truck driving into three categories: driving on country roads with a semi-trailer, brake testing on a forest road in small trucks, and scenic driving in lorries.

The participants also had the opportunity to drive Subaru’s 4×4 on cross country roads, driving with experienced motorsport drivers, including Tommy Rustad. If that wasn’t enough, participants had the opportunity to drive racing cars on ice with studded tyres at the Tislei fjord.

“The participants were very pleased with the arrangement, and it has already been decided that we will have the same type of arrangement next winter on week four said BÅrd Dalen from Dekk Partner, the event’s organiser.

In addition Scania’s demo centre had a truck and a profiled-trailer on display in front of the hotel.  A R500 truck with a three-axle semi-trailer was available for test-driving. Scania also brought a P270 dump truck and a modified P310 lorry truck with them from Bussbygg.

A R500 6×4 dump truck was also attracted interest. However, perhaps the most interesting item was an R470 container truck that had been modified into a school truck.
