Calif. Dealer Has Bad Run With Cars

(Akron/Tire Review – Mercury Register, Oroville, Calif.) For the third time in three months, a vehicle crashed into the side of the Triple S Tire building on Lincoln Boulevard in Oroville on Mar 27.

Sometime between 11 p.m. and midnight, an unidentified vehicle slammed into the tire and automotive repair shop, damaging a brick wall, breaking four large windows and taking out a door.

"The alarm went off and the Oroville Police responded within minutes, but the vehicle took off," explained Chuck Weeks, owner of Triple S Tires.

Weeks said the damage reveals the vehicle was most likely traveling down Pearl Street toward Lincoln Boulevard when the crash occurred.

The business has operated in Oroville for 25 years. After working as its manager, Weeks bought the business in 1996. "In the last 25 years, the building has been hit five times," he said.

The ‘S’ in Triple S Tires stands for "safety, service, and savings" and their business did not slow down one bit because of the damage to the building. "It has not impeded our abilities to work on cars, so we’re still open and taking care of our customers while the construction crews repair the building," Weeks said.
