Tyre Majors to Display at Geneva Show

(Staffordshire, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) The world’s leading tyremakers are exhibiting at the 77th International Motor Show, held in Geneva between Mar. 8-18.

Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli, Continental, Marangoni, Yokohama and a number of other tyre-related companies will be amongst the 250-plus companies present at the city’s Palexpo exhibition centre for what has been called the accessories, spare parts and equipment sector’s largest annual event.

Following the initial two press days, in which 5,000 media representatives from around the world are expected, the show will open to an anticipated 700,000 visitors from approximately 80 countries will visit the show during its 11 public days.

Tyres & Accessories will be present at the Geneva show and will provide in-depth coverage of the latest products and developments from the global tyre industry.

TBC promotes Don Byrd to president and CEO

Byrd joined TBC in April 2018 as executive vice president of TBC and president & COO of National Tire Wholesale (NTW).

TBC Corporation’s new president and chief executive officer will be Don Byrd. Byrd, who currently serves as TBC’s chief strategy and marketing officer, will replace Sam Kato, effective May 1. Kato will return to Sumitomo, one of TBC’s shareholders.

According to TBC, Byrd’s appointment by the board of directors to president and chief executive officer is a natural transition for TBC and follows a strategic plan developed in collaboration with Kato.
