JohnDow Industries has added a third product to its line of Tire Taxis.

Last fall, the company introduced the Tire Taxi (JDI-TT1) and the Tire Taxi EX (JDI-TT1-EX) as its latest innovative products for the automotive tire and service industry. The new heavy-duty family member, the Tire Taxi HD (JDI-TT1-HD) was developed from the needs of mechanic sand tire technicians to transport larger wheels and tires in an efficient and safe manner.

The original Tire Taxi diameter was increased from 25-in. to 33-in. to accommodate a more heavy-duty tire and wheel market. The HD Tire Taxi is also designed with 4-in. industrial casters to maneuver over rough, uneven surfaces. One of these casters can be locked for safe storage. The HD Tire Taxi holds four heavy-duty wheels and tires with a load capacity of 552 pounds.

Tire Taxis, specifically designed to make moving tires and wheels through storage areas and service bays faster and easier, help increase shop efficiency and productivity while decreasing injuries and promoting safety, the company says.

“The research told us there was a growing need in the market place for the heavy-duty version of the Tire Taxi,” said Robert Christy, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing. “It is perfect for transporting 4×4 wheels, van wheels and other large wheels and tires around the workshop. We are very excited to be able to tell the complete Tire Taxi product line story that now encompasses these three innovative products.”

The new HDTire Taxi also provides storage of tires and wheels during mechanical work; transporting of tires and wheels from the auto lift to tire changers or to tire shelves; and basic storage of customer tires. The unit is also designed to fit through a standard 36-in. commercial doorway.
