The Tire Industry Association is offering a 300 Level Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Tech course for the training and certification of dealer and fleet technicians who are in need of OSHA compliance training.

TIA will host the class in Louisville, Ky., on April 20-21 and April 27-28 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each day.

According to TIA, the CTS Tech Course is designed for experienced employees with at least one year of hands-on experience. To pass the class, students must successfully complete the final exam and show proficiency in the shop by demonstrating the ability to perform various skills.

After successfully completing the course, each student will receive:
•    An official TIA Certificate of Completion
•    13 uniform patches
•    Two-year subscription to the bi-monthly subscription, Commercial Tire Service Today

“We are excited to offer this Certified Tech course, as we typically only offer 400 Level Certified Instructor courses,” said Christine Hoogenboom, director of training for TIA. “Our goal is to reach dealers or fleets that only have a small number of techs that need to be certified and don’t have the resources to first send someone to a week-long class to become an instructor.”

Tuition for the Certified Tech course is $395 for up to two attendees and $345 for three attendees or more.

TIA plans to host more CTS Tech classes in Chicago later in the year, and possibly hold a CTS Tech Training Tour in 2018 across the U.S.
