Federal-Mogul Motorparts is expanding its nationwide “Garage Gurus” technical training network with the grand opening of a new center in Miramar, Fla. The facility will service all of South Florida, the company said.
“Today more than ever, front-line automotive repair professionals are demanding more training to stay current with ever-changing diagnostic and repair requirements as they work tirelessly to keep consumers safe in their vehicles,” said Dan Ninivaggi, CEO of Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “We are committed to filling our responsibility as a leading manufacturer to provide the training and support these professionals require. Garage Gurus will help them obtain the skills they need to stay current with changing vehicle technologies and consumer needs.”
Federal-Mogul launched its first regional Garage Guru’s locations in Bronx, N.Y., St. Louis, Mo., and Skokie, Ill., in April. The company has opened eight of the 15 scheduled Garage Gurus locations to open this year.
Garage Gurus is part of the company’s Tech First initiative aimed at strengthening the automotive service industry’s support of the front-line professionals who repair and maintain vehicles. Each Garage Gurus training center includes multiple vehicle repair/training bays equipped with the latest tools and is staffed by more than 100 ASE certified Gurus, Federal-Mogul said. Operating out of these garages are also Gurus-On-The-Go product technology vans that will visit repair shops and technicians throughout each region.
Classes offered at the Mirsmar location will be available in both English and Spanish.
