Ken-Tool Releases Dual Wheel Separation Bag

Ken-Tool has unveiled a tool to help remove wheels/tires from truck and trailer axles—the Ken-Tool 34555 Shark Fin Dual Wheel Separation Bag.

The Shark Fin is an extreme-duty, rubber coated, Kevlar bag which uses air pressure to create 5000 lbs. of force to separate and remove stuck/corroded dual wheels off the axle studs and hubs. The device is safe for use on any wheel type from 15 to 24.5 inch rim diameters, according to Ken-Tool.

The bag works by inserting it vertically between the tires near the 11 and 2 o’clock positions after the tires are off the ground and the lug nuts are loosened, Ken-Tool said. Compressed air is added the bag, delivering 2.5 tons of expansion force at 87 psi and breaking the corrosion, according to the company.
