Bridgestone Americas used its presence at this year’s Waste Expo in New Orleans to launch a pair of Bridgestone brand heavy truck tires.
New for urban use applications are the Bridgestone Greatec M845 super wide and the Bridgestone M860A high-scrub all-position radial.
“Stop and go driving, oil and chemical residue, pot holes, metal plates, cracked paving, weather all these road conditions and more pose unique challenges to urban-use tires and are compounded by heavy duty job demands, such as urban waste collection,” said Bert Jones, manager of truck tire product marketing. “The new design innovations in these tires help prolong tire life, retreadability and keep the tire performing to highest levels.”
Bridgestone said the M860A “reflects improvements made to the popular Bridgestone M860,” including a new tread compound for wear performance and a wider belt package for casing durability.
The super wide Greatec M845, available in size 455/55R22.5, was engineered for high-traction, high-scrub applications, Bridgestone said, and features the latest version of the company’s WavedBelt technology for irregular shoulder wear, stone ejector platforms in the tread grooves, and a block pattern that promotes wet traction.
The M860A will be available in June and the Greatec M845 will be available in July, the tiremaker said.
