Toyo’s White, Ga., Factory Receives ISO/TS Certification

Toyo White plantToyo Tire North America Manufacturing Inc. (TNA) of White, Ga., has received ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification for the design and manufacture of passenger and light truck tires.

Established in June 2004, the manufacturing facility produces both Toyo and Nitto brand tires using a proprietary automated production system called A.T.O.M. (Advanced Tire Operation Module). According to Toyo, the result is high quality passenger and light truck tires that are distributed to customers across North America. In addition to replacement tires, the factory also produces OE tires for vehicle brands including Ford and Toyota.

“We strive to attain the highest quality possible throughout our global operations without exceptions,” said Jim Hawk, TNA president and corporate officer. “Receiving this most recent 16949:2009 Quality Management System Standards certification assures customers that our commitment to quality is unwavering.”

The plant is currently undergoing its fourth expansion, adding more than 1 million square feet to its current 2 million square feet of manufacturing and warehousing. TNA also plans to hire an additional 650 employees over the next year. Also named on the certificate is the Toyo Tires Technical Center in Itami City, Japan.
