According to Autosport magazine, Paul Hemery, head of Pirelli’s motorsport program, said the company was considering all of its options after FIA began accepting bids for tire suppliers for the 2008 season.
FIA has decided that F1 will become a single spec tire series. It is expected that Bridgestone will make a bid, but it is not known if Michelin, which previously stated that it was leaving F1 racing after this season, would also apply.
"We are seriously considering a bid to enter Formula One when the control tire comes," Hembery told the magazine. "As well as that, we are looking at Le Mans prototypes and rally raids.”
Pirelli left F1 after the 1991 season.
