Double Coin Supports Truckin’ for Kids

Double Coin Tires has sponsored the annual Truckin’ for Kids fundraiser, which was held at Irwindale Speedway in California. Double Coin was the premier sponsor of the event, which included more than 300 truck entries and thousands of fans in the stands, and also donated eight 255/70R22.5 RT500’s for the traveling Truckin’ for Kids rig.

This was the 38th annual show, which has raised more than $2 million in its history and presently donates to the Los Angeles chapter of the JDRF which benefits type one diabetes. Frank and Dianna Pangburn have volunteered for 35 years and have managed the show since 1990 with most of the same volunteers from 1987.

In a blog post on the company’s website, western regional sales manager Rico Austin recounted his experience at the event:

“I (that’s me on the left presenting an award) was there to represent Double Coin and what a blast! In addition to the drag races, there was a truck show and competitions such as who could back their tractor up to a trailer hookup the quickest,” Austin said.

“Double Coin was well represented with the brand logo on all the trophies and displays of our popular RLB400 closed shoulder drive tire and the RR150 5-rib steer/all position, multi-use tire. But the coolest thing was knowing that the event was raising thousands of dollars for kids in need. We were honored to support this great event and wish Truckin’ for Kids much, much success down the road.”
