AAIA Announces Agenda, Online Registration for Legislative Summit

(Akron/Tire Review) The 2007 Aftermarket Legislative Summit is set for June 12-13, and will provide an opportunity for aftermarket professionals to come to Capitol Hill to meet with key congressional leaders and discuss issues that impact their businesses.

Online registration for the Summit is now available at aftermarket.org. To ensure appointments with appropriate members of Congress and to reserve a room at the headquarters hotel, attendees must register by May 1, according to AAIA.

AAIA says the key issue for this year’s Summit will be the Motor Vehicle Owners’ Right to Repair Act. In addition, the association expects to address asbestos litigation reform, health insurance costs and increased funding for vocational education.

"This biannual summit has become the defining event in the nation’s capital for the industry to demonstrate to their elected leaders both its size and economic power," said Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA’s president and CEO.

There is no cost to attend the event. For more information and to register, visit aftermarket.org or contact Alexis Walters at 301-654-6664 or via e-mail at [email protected].
