‘New’ Coats 7000 Series Changer Gets Upgrades

Hennessy Industries has revamped and relaunched its popular Coats 7000 series rim clamp tire changer.

The improved 7000 features several major upgrades to increase application coverage and decrease floor-to-floor times, the company said. The new Coats 7000 series changers will be on display at Hennessy Industries’ SEMA Show booth next week.

Designed for high volume dealers, Coats 7000 series tire changers include the 7060 AX, 7060 EX and 7665 AX models, each of which feature fiber-reinforced composite air cylinders, and extra support blocks on the bead looseners for durability.

New to the 7000 series are:
• Grip-Max Clamps: provide integrated protection and twice the slip resistance of conventional clamp covers.

• Oil injector system: a huge, clear reservoir replaces a conventional filter-lubricator, and holds approximately one year’s worth of oil. The oil is injected into the system with every tire change, reducing maintenance-related downtime.

• Three-way powered bead-loosening system: available on 7060 models, the system offers easy-to-use powered in- and out-control, plus a neutral position for increased control and productivity.

• Duckhead Mounted Bead Roller: works in tandem with the Robo Arm to keep the toughest tire beads in the drop-center during tire mounting.

• Advanced clamp positioning system: enables clamps to be preset in any position between six and 22 inches when equipped with standard clamps. This improves ease of clamping, especially with large, heavy wheels, the company said, and minimizes the chances of pinching a sidewall or nicking a wheel during clamping.
