News from Motaquip

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) Motaquip, the UK supplier of motor parts, has started the new year with a couple of changes.

The first of these is the appointment of a new product planner.

Alistair Large has taken up this role, with responsibility for Motaquip’s extensive clutch, steering and suspension propositions. Prior to joining Motaquip, Mr. Large notched up 15 years with Unipart Automotive in product and promotional management roles for Brown Brothers and ADS.

Change number two is that Motaquip has moved to a 6pm cut-off for its overnight parts ordering service. This means that customers can place an order a full hour later than previously and still be guaranteed delivery by 8am the following day.

Motaquip carried out extensive research with its factor customers and this identified the opportunity to enhance the service on offer by extending the ordering deadline. This allows factors an extra hour to successfully process a late surge of orders from their independent garage customers, rather than having to go to a same day parts supplier.

Says Peter Cox, national sales manager at Motaquip: “Independent garages don’t stop work at 4.55pm and a part identified as needed after 5pm always has the potential to be a real problem. With our research identifying 6pm as the ideal cut-off time for factors it was important that we introduced a service to meet this need and ensure we could add further value to our customers’ businesses.”
