Yokohama Promotes, Assigns Officers to New Posts

(Akron/Tire Review) Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., parent of Yokohama Tire Corp., has made new assignments for directors and corporate officers, all effective Apr. 1.

Director and Senior Managing Corporate Officer Keigo Ueda has been named to the additional posts of general manager of Yokohama’s Hoses and Coupling Division and chairman of YH America Inc. He was also named chairman of SAS Rubber Co. and will continue as president of the company’s Sports Group and general manager of the Hiratsuka factory.

Former Tire Group president, Takashi Sugimoto, who is director and senior managing corporate officer, will be in charge of Yokohama’s business development in Brazil, Russia, India and China, and was also named chairman of Yokohama Rubber (China) Co. Ltd.

Takashi Yamashita was promoted to director and senior managing corporate officer and president of Yokohama’s Tire Group. He remains general manager of the OE tire sales division.

Akihisa Takayama was promoted to managing corporate officer and general manager of the tire production division.

Corporate officers in new additional assignments include Michio Yuge, corporate general affairs department, the corporate purchasing department, and general manager of the corporate compliance department; Yasuhiro Mizumoto, general manager of the Shinshiro plant; Tooru Kobayashi, general manager of the tire planning division, chairman of Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc., and in charge of the Off-the-Road Tire & Aircraft Tire Division; Hideo Fujiwara, general manager of the corporate finance and accounting department and in charge of the corporate personnel department.
