The Tire Industry Association (TIA) got down to business Monday afternoon at its annual membership meeting as a kickoff to the organization’s activities during the 2019 SEMA Show.

John Evankovich, outgoing TIA president and director of Sam’s Club Tire & Battery Centers, passed the gavel to Brian Rigney, president of Dill Air Controls, to signify the transfer of TIA presidential duties. Evankovich thanked TIA for his time in office and wished Rigney success in his new post. Rigney said he is looking forward to the next 12 months as president.

“I’m excited for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, and I’m thankful for the support of the TIA staff and TIA board,” Rigney said.

Evankovich opened the meeting with a warm welcome to attendees, an introduction of the meeting agenda and a review of minutes from the 2018 annual meeting. Evankovich also recognized outgoing board members, including David Martin, past TIA president and category director of tools and supply for American Tire Distributors (ATD); Anthony Blackman, president of Atlantic Tire & Service; and Dan Childers, director of sales, Mid-Atlantic region for TCi-Tire Centers.

As president, Rigney recognized incoming and returning board members, including: T. J.
