Bill Hanvey, president and CEO of the Auto Care Association, will represent the auto care industry before the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) as a part of a seven-day hearing on the fourth Section 301 tariff list on Chinese imports.

This fourth list of imported products, worth approximately $300 billion, soon to be subject to a 25% tariff, was announced by the United States Trade Representative on May 17. The Auto Care Association says Hanvey will voice the industry’s continued support of the Trump administration’s efforts to address China’s unfair trade policies related to forced technology transfer, while relaying the negative impacts of these tariffs on both the global automotive supply chain and U.S. consumers.

Last week, the Auto Care Association joined 660 other U.S. trade associations and companies in a multi-industry letter urging the administration to avoid additional tariffs and reach a resolution with China.
