American Kenda Rubber has announced the launch of its new touring tire, the Kenetica Touring A/S KR217, at the 2018 SEMA Show (Booth #43091 in the lower South Hall).

The Kenetica touring A/S KR217 is Kenda’s second-generation touring all-season tire designed for drivers of older and late model touring cars. The Kenetica touring A/S combines comfort and ride with enhanced wet and dry handling capabilities required by drivers, Kenda says. Created for diverse American all-season weather conditions at Kenda’s American Technical Center, the KR217 offers lower weight and reduced noise while providing strong wet braking and year-round traction, including light snow.

“This second-generation Kenetica will be a high volume, strong margin tire for our channel partners,” said Brandon Stotsenburg, Kenda’s vice president for automotive. “Kenda is providing significantly upgraded performance compared to our popular KR17 at a comparable value price point.”

The Kenetica touring A/S KR217 comes with a 60,000-mile warranty, increased from 50,000 offered on the first-generation KR17. It has an optimized carbon-based tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design featuring Kenda’s proprietary designed pitch sequencing for reduced noise and four grooves engineered to prevent hydroplaning.

Designed for reliable excitement, the Kenetica Touring A/S KR217 is offered in 43 initial sizes. Aspect ratio is 50-70 and rim range from 13-18. Speed ratings are primarily H-rated with scheduled shipments beginning in the first quarter of 2019.
