NexTraq’s electronic logging device (ELD) solution has been certified by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and is now listed on the FMCSA website.
NexTraq ELD provides an integrated driver monitoring system that enables fleet managers to easily manage driver hours (HOS) compliance, DVIR inspections and helps businesses improve their fleet efficiency, according to the company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Michelin North America.
“We decided to go with a hard-wired, rugged tablet solution, because of the possible connectivity, reliability and security issues associated with Bluetooth- and WiFi-based solutions,” said Pankaj Sharma, vice president of marketing at NexTraq. “By offering a robust, all-inclusive solution, we eliminate the hassle that the consumers face in purchasing devices, tablets and data plans.”
NexTraq said its ELD solution’s key features include:

- Delivers real time HOS updates to driver and manager
- Simple to use and easy to record inspection data with integrated electronic DVIR
