Wix Filters has donated $44,341.25 to national FFA chapters through its box-top redemption program. Wix ran the program in partnership with the National FFA Organization, formerly Future Farmers of America.
“The box-top program is an annual success due to the participation of auto parts stores, shops, local agribusinesses and individuals who purchase Wix Filters,” said Jennifer Gibson, brand manager for Wix. “It’s one of Wix’s most popular and successful fundraising programs, and we’re thrilled our partnership with FFA will enter its 30th year in 2016.”
Between January and April 2015, students in participating FFA chapters redeemed 177,365 WIX box tops for a donation from WIX of $39,341.25, or 25 cents per box top, the company said. In addition, five FFA chapters across the country each received a $1,000 bonus from WIX, bringing the total donation to $44,341.25.
As part of the program, FFA chapters competed for five $1,000 bonuses. Winners of the bonuses are:
- Bridgeport FFA, Bridgeport, Washington
- Westhope-Newburg FFA, Westhope, North Dakota
- Cheylin FFA, Bird City, Kansas
- Alliance FFA, Alliance, Nebraska
- Appleton FFA, Appleton, Missouri
