Tiremaker Gets Green Award from Orange (County) Magazine

Yokohama Tire Corp. was one of 25 organizations recognized for creating a more eco-friendly Orange County and reducing its carbon footprint globally.

Yokohama Tire Corp. was presented with top honors at the annual OC Metro Green Team awards, held on April 18 in Costa Mesa, Calif. Steve Churm, CEO of Churm Media and publisher of the OC Metro magazine, and Theresa Palang, Yokohama manager of public relations and digital marketing.

YTC was one of 25 organizations recognized for creating a more eco-friendly Orange County and reducing its carbon footprint globally.

“Being selected among the top green companies is truly gratifying for Yokohama,” said Dan King, Yokohama senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We make environmental preservation a way of life for us, and we are proud to have received the honor from our community.”

OC Metro magazine publisher Steve Churm said, “It’s impossible to imagine this county associated with a color other than orange. Yet with each passing season, green becomes a larger part of the collective thinking of those who work and live in Orange County. Going green is neither foreign nor forced. We do it at home and at work because it makes sense for our communities, our health and our bottom line.”
