T.O. Haas Tire Earns OSHA Safety Recognition

Two T.O. Haas Tire locations have joined the Nebraska Department of Labor’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Award Program (SHARP). SHARP is regulated by OSHA and recognizes small employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system.  haastire2

“We’ve been working hard on reaching SHARP certification status at all of our stores,” said Randy Haas, dealership owner and safety director. “We’ve identified hazards in the workplace, corrected them and significantly reduced job-related injuries.”

Currently there are only nine employers within the state of Nebraska who participate in SHARP. Haas operates a total of 14 SHARP certified locations within the state.

The two new Haas Tire stores receiving the award are located at 640 West O St. and 8300 Dawson Creek Bay in Lincoln, Neb.

“This certification is very important because of what it says about our commitment to the safety of our employees and customers”, said George Hoellen, T.O. Haas Tire president.  “In order to stay in the program, we have to be recertified periodically and the bottom line is that each and every day we want employees to go home to their families safe and healthy.”

T.O. Haas Tire operates a chain of 25 retail tire and automotive service facilities in Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa.  The business is headquarted in Lincoln, Neb.
