Successful Debut for Tyrexpo India

The inaugural staging of Tyrexpo India in Chennai reportedly got off to a strong start, according to the exhibition’s organizers.

The show was opened by guest of honor Sudarsan Varadaraj, managing director of Elgi Rubber Co. He welcomed the show to India saying that the timing was right for an event that showcased the best of India’s emerging tire and equipment aftermarket. He also pointed to a changing mind-set among domestic buyers, away from a purely price-led approach to one that was increasingly sophisticated and recognized the importance of overall value and long-term benefit.

Elgi has been a long-standing supporter of Tyrexpo shows around the world and Varadaraj praised the choice of Chennai, India’s motor city, as the venue for the country’s first dedicated tire trade event.

Paul Farrant, managing director of show organizer ECI International, commented: “We’ve been looking forward to bringing a specialist tire and equipment show to India for a number of years so it’s great to see such a positive response over the first two days. In fact we were still taking stand bookings the day before the show opened, which is unprecedented in our experience. The exhibition floor has been busy with visitors from across India and international markets and exhibitors have reported healthy interest and enquiries.”

GRI recently conducted programs in Sri Lanka to empower women and motivate children under its Green x Circle initiative. The company said these endeavors aimed to address the needs of the community, focusing on both women empowerment and youth motivation.

GRI recently organized a training program titled "Management of household finance under current economic conditions" at the Ingiriya Rubber Collecting Center in Sri Lanka, South Asia led by Shashika Nimali, an NLP practitioner and life coach. The company said this initiative provided women in the industry with essential skills and knowledge to effectively manage household finances. GRI's tailored training sessions equipped participants with tools for informed decision-making, ultimately fostering greater financial security and independence, the company said.
