Tire Industry Association has announced the winners of the 2012-13 board of directors election.
The following were elected to six available seats, each with a three-year term: former TIA board member Michael Baggett, Yokohama Tire Corp. OTR division, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; new board member David Martin, American Tire Distributors, Huntersville, N.C.; and returning board members Dick Gust, Liberty Tire Recycling, Chicago, Ill.; James Melvin Jr., Melvin’s Tire Pros and Auto Service Centers, North Kingstown, R.I.; Glen Nicholson, TBC Retail Group, Juno Beach, Fla.; and Mike Wolfe, Southeastern Wholesale Tire, Raleigh, N.C.
“This election year had the highest number of candidates in TIA’s recent history, with 23 vying for the coveted board positions,” said Roy Littlefield, TIA executive vice president. “We are very appreciative to all the candidates for putting forth their names and to the retiring board members for the years of dedication and leadership to our industry.”
New board members will take office at TIA’s annual meeting, which will be held Oct. 29 at The Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.
