Several Senate Democrats are supporting the Commerce Department’s investigation of the dumping of Chinese tire imports in the U.S., according to The Hill.
On Monday, 31 Democratic senators sent a letter to Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker in support of the agency’s decision to examine tire imports. The letter also urged action to restore fair trade conditions.
“In the face of China’s continual targeting of our manufacturing base, we need to make sure that we act quickly and enforce our laws,” the senators wrote. The group emphasized that laws against unfair trade are critical for the U.S. economic policies and prosperity.
