SEMA Show 2006: Toyo Intros Two New Lines

(Las Vegas/Tire Review) Toyo Tire USA introduced two new tire lines during the SEMA Show - the Versado LX and the DOT-legal Proxes R888.

Toyo said the all-season touring Versado LX is designed to “provide a smooth, comfortable and quiet ride,” and targets upper end luxury performance vehicles such as the Honda Accord, Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Cadillac DTS and STS, Chrysler 300, Infiniti Q45, Lexus ES350, Lincoln Town Car, and Mercedes Benz.

The non-directional, asymmetric Versado LX will be available in 15- to 18-inch wheel sizes covering 70- to 45-series.

The new Proxes R888 is a DOT-legal competition tire, and was developed to “deliver outstanding grip and consistency for quick lap times, making it ideal for use while road racing, at track days and at high-performance driving schools,” said Toyo.

The unidirectional tread has a 6/32-inch tread depth, which can be shaved down to 4/32nds, Toyo said. The Proxes R888 will be available in a variety of sizes fitting wheels from 17- to 19-inches. New sizes will also be released throughout the 2007 calendar year.
