Plans Readied for 5th CITExpo

(Akron/Tire Review) China, now among the top ranked countries in tire production and consumption, has been gaining marketshare in tires and related products.

Global tiremakers have seen fast growth in exports (31% of units and 50% of value in 2005) and domestic demand (expected to reach 300 million units this year). Foreign companies are attracted by this gigantic market and continue to expand their investment or look to take their first steps there.

Tire Review is the official North American media sponsor of CITExpo.

Being the most important trade event in the region for the past four years, China International Tire Expo (CITExpo) is well acknowledged by domestic and international buyers, tiremakers, carmakers and foreign brands. CITExpo 2006 attracted 220 exhibitors and 6,800 attendees. Chinese exhibitors and international exhibitors have found that CITExpo is a platform they could use to meet important buyers coming all over the world.

The fifth annual CITExpo will be held Sept. 12-14 at Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center. More exhibitors than 2006 are expected to participate and will showcase their latest products and technology, including radial and bias tires, wheels, tire maintenance equipments, retread materials and equipment, tire production material and equipment and other related products.

Some major manufacturers, such as Maxxis, Nankang, Russian Sibur, and Beissbarth, will attend CITExpo for the first time, while others like Sicam, Triangle, Linglong, Qizhou, Shyma, Feichi and Stamford, will again exhibit at CITExpo.

With four months to go before the event starts, CITExpo has already confirmed more than 200 exhibitors, 40% of which are first time exhibitors and 58% are returning exhibitors. Pre-registration shows a significant increase in visitors, covering some 80 countries.

Visitors who pre-register online at www.citepxo.com.cn will receive free admission, fast registration line, a copy of the show catalogue and a limited-edition souvenir.
