At this week’s Mid-America Trucking Show, Michelin Americas Truck Tires (MATT) opened its Advantage Program, initially established for small fleets, to owner-operators. The program offers trucking professionals help with consistent pricing and emergency road service, as well as safety and maintenance training information, according to the tiremaker.
“We’ve seen the popularity of the Michelin Advantage Program increase significantly as more and more people are realizing that you don’t have to be a big fleet to get an advantage or have a relationship with Michelin,” said Fritz Mueller, small fleet business segment manager, MATT. “Now, more trucking professionals that operate their own business will have additional opportunities to control their costs, save time and improve their safety.”
The Michelin Advantage Program provides consistent program pricing on both new tire products and Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) retread products. Purchases can be made with any Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card. The tiremaker said program members also have access to Michelin ONCall emergency road service with no dispatch fee.
The Advantage Program also supplies members with access to the Michelin Commercial Service Network and resources on the program’s website, which provides training information and maintenance tips and techniques. Along with regular e-newsletter updates on news, product updates and promotions, new in 2011 are quarterly webcasts on important tire topics, such as CSA 2010, tire casing analysis and more, which members can view and also download to help them maintain safe truck operations, Michelin added.
