The new Ferrari will come with a unique Pirelli P Zero Corsa Asymmetric tire as OE, in size 265/30R19 at the front and 345/30R20 at the rear.
Pirelli said its researchers, working with engineers from Ferrari, increased the contact patch of the tire. Thanks to the dedicated sizes and larger dimensions of the front tire, understeer is reduced, improving turn-in and grip as the car is going through the corner. A significantly lowered shoulder benefits cornering stiffness, improving both the efficiency and reactivity of the car for the driver, the tiremaker added.
Pirelli also noted the new tire was designed asymmetrically to cater to the “forces at work on a car capable of accelerating from 0 to 200kph in 7.3 seconds. Furthermore, to obtain the best synergy between the tire and suspension, Pirelli’s engineers differentiated the stiffness of the inner and outer tire shoulder by about 5%. This ensures the best possible grip and maximum performance stability in all usage conditions.”
The new vehicle boasts a carbon fiber chassis, KineticEnergy Recovery System, and nearly 1,000 hp.
