Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has recalled some 1,220 medium truck radial tires due to innerliner concerns.
The recall covers certain Hercules H502 truck tires in size 315/80R22.5 LR J, produced between Dec. 25, 2011 and May 26, 2012.
The tiremaker said the tires may have been produced with an insufficient innerliner thickness due to an “improperly working machine,” which could result in “the formation of voids (U crack) which could result in early life sidewall separations, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.”
