According to ESPN, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has replaced AT&T as the Cotton Bowl’s naming sponsor. The Goodyear Cotton Bowl will take place Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, at 12:30 p.m.
The game will still be played at the AT&T Stadium, previously known as Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas.
The Cotton bowl is one of the six major New Year’s bowls that will rotate as semifinal hosts in the new College Football Playoff, said ESPN. The college football playoff’s 12-person selection committee will determine and announce the pairings for each of the bowls on Dec. 7.
The Goodyear Cotton bowl will be televised on ESPN.
AT&T had been the Cotton Bowl’s sponsor since 2006.
