Continental Sponsoring Event at Road America

Continental Tire the Americas and Road America have agreed to a multi-year partnership that makes Continental Tire the title sponsor for Road America’s most popular sports car racing weekend, which takes place Aug. 7-10.

“Road America is commonly known as America’s National Park of Speed and serves as the perfect platform for Continental Tire to connect not only with the fans from Wisconsin, but across the nation as many fans drive long distances to be here for this one weekend,” said George Bruggenthies, Road America’s president and general manager.

Continental Tire’s showcase at the Road America events will include the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge on Aug. 9 and the Tudor United SportsCar Championship race on Aug. 10, plus races from the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge, IMSA Prototype Lites and the Mazda MX-5 Cup.

Tickets for the “Continental Tire Road Race Showcase” weekend at Road America are on sale now. Advance pricing ends July 31.

Ascot Supply Corporation, based in Newnan, Georgia, has selected Mark Paquette for the newly created position of vice president. In this position, Ascot Supply said Paquette will oversee the growth of the company's products, corporate profitability, manage marketing and advertising and assume many other responsibilities.

He will work under the direction of current President David Kessler and officially begin his new role on June 3. Paquette joined the tire and automotive industry in the early 1980s at his father's tire shop, and his contributions to Mohawk Rubber Sales were instrumental in the company's growth and eventual sale to Myers Tire Supply in 2021, according to Ascot Supply. Paquette eventually was given a promotion to the role of director of operations at Myers Tire Supply.
