The Automotive Service Association is pulling its NACE and CARS events out of next year’s Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week, opting to hold its own stand-alone event.
ASA’s International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) and Congress of Automotive Repair & Service (CARS) have been part AAIW which includes the AAPEX and SEMA Shows for the last three years.
NACE and CARS will now join with groups representing the auto glass industry to holds its own event, slated for Oct. 10-13 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
While not commenting on why it is leaving the AAIW which attracts some 120,000 people ASA president Ron Pyle said the new ASA-backed event is "for all automotive service and repair professionals, enabling even more industry segments to join under the umbrella.”
ASA said its 2009 attendance at NACE and CARS was approximately 22,000 people.
