New CrossContact LX20 Launched by CTA

Continental Tire the Americas has officially launched the Continental CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology.

First shown in April at CTA’s annual Gold Dealer Conference, the new tire combines fuel efficiency with enhanced traction and braking performance, the company said.Continental CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology

The premium all-season tire stops 34 feet shorter compared to the Pirelli Scorpion in independent wet braking tests, CTA claimed.

The CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology targets pickups, SUVs and CUVs, and was “designed to deliver excellent wet traction” and features the company’s Traction Grooves, which are biting edges in the tire grooves to improve grip on snow and on wet pavement.

CTA said that with EcoPlus Technology, the CrossContact LX20 can save the average driver up to 2,500 miles of fuel over the life of the tire. Its Smooth Response technology “offers a smooth and comfortable ride, crisp handling and drastically reduced road noise.”

The CrossContact LX20 with EcoPlus Technology has a UTQG rating of 740AB for S and T speed rated sizes, and 680AA for H-rated sizes. It is backed by a 70,000-mile/72-month limited treadwear warranty and 12-month free replacement warranty. The tire is now available in sizes covering 16- through 20-inch wheel diameters.
