ATD Awards Scholarships

Ten deserving high school seniors from across the nation have been chosen to receive a $2,500 college scholarship from American Tire Distributors (ATD).

“Since the inception of the ATD scholarship program in 1989, we’ve awarded more than $100,000 to graduating high school seniors around the country who are interested in securing a higher education,” said Bill Berry, president and CEO of ATD. “We are proud that this program acknowledges the contributions made by these young adults and offers them the opportunity to accomplish their future goals.”

Each year the ATD scholarship committee identifies graduating seniors who are dependents of full-time ATD employees in need of tuition support who have demonstrated high academic achievements, leadership skills and commitment to activities within their schools and communities.

The ATD scholarship program was established in honor of the late James Harlan Heafner, cited for his pioneering efforts in tire distribution, branding, education, and his industry and community support.
